I’ve always liked to make things, as long as I can remember. I’ve concentrated more on my wirework and doll making over the past few years, though I still quilt and bead as well. (And keep an active stash of old denim jeans for upcycling.) I used to write, I don’t do it as often, but my writing and that of those whose work I’d like to share will pop up here too.
I have a B.A. in History (unofficial concentration of Medieval and Ancient studies), and that tends to sneak in on my designs in the oddest of places. Certain colors or textures – be they in a stone or a fabric – make me think of a certain time or place and off runs my brain into a thousand new projects. (Often at the most inopportune times!)
I’m also a bookworm, so literature can have a serious influence on my projects, sometimes in subtle and sometimes not so subtle ways.
Hello,The jewelry with replacement fossils looks absolutely stunning as you say. I note also that you like reading history books We seem to have some common interests besides fossils. My book called” Toffee Apples & Togas” covers some Roman and Medieval history.
Thanks, I’ll have to take a look. It’s certainly an intriguing title!
I just nominated you for the Kreativ Blogger Award. :0

That’s very kind, I’ve never done this before, how do I nominate others?
I went about finding topics that I like (ie jewelry, dolls, etc.) and blogs that I follow.
Nice blog, Once was an obsessive fossil collector. Now I clean mining waters and sometimes pick-up minerals for macros. Like the jewelry you made.Reminds me of prehistoric artifacts made by the smarter ones.
Sounds like an interesting job.
I do like historical influences. I just started playing with viking knit, which while not prehistoric still has the feel of antiquity.
